How will you keep a Backup of your WhatsApp chats?

Today, WhatsApp is a popular messaging or communication medium that almost everyone around the world is using to communicate with each other easily, at low cost, through audio, video or text. It used to be a stand-alone app or instant messaging platform but since its acquisition by Facebook in 2014, it is now used in almost every country for any instant messaging.

However, although it is more popular and widely used for Android phones and iPhones, it is also used on Mac or Windows computers as well as phones. But if suddenly your phone is broken or lost or WhatsApp is deleted from the phone, then install it on the new phone naturally with the old number! But those messages? Sending or receiving audio or videos? How to get them back?

No worries Here I will tell you that. By following the below tricks you will also get back all your WhatsApp messages (Text / Audio / Video / Image) if you have backed them up on Google Drive or Apple Cloud. Since most of the people use Android phones, here I am discussing the system of Android phones. If you want to know the iPhone, you can click here.

How to keep backup?

1) First you need to open WhatsApp. On the main screen, touch the three dots in the upper right corner.

2) A dropdown menu will appear. From there you have to touch on “Settings”.

3) Then Settings will open. From there tap on “Chats Settings”.

4) When you open the Chat Settings menu, you will see the “Chats Backup” option at the bottom of it. Tap on it to open the Chats Backup menu.

5) Now you will get several options inside this menu. From there, first tap on “Backup to Google Drive” and select “Daily”. Then your daily messages or chats will be backed up every day.

6) Then touch “Google Account” and select your Gmail ID and authorize it with Google Drive.

{Remember that if you don't have a Google Account set up on your phone, it must be set up according to this rule. Otherwise, you cannot backup any of your WhatsApp chats.}

7) Now the "Backup using cellular" option should be turned on. In this way, even if you continue using mobile data, your backups will continue to be stored in Google Drive every day.

8) Finally the backup should be started at that moment. For this, touch the “Backup” button above. Then Google will keep backup of all your WhatsApp chats which will be safe for as long as you want. And the backups will be constantly updated.

By doing the above steps, all your WhatsApp messages (text/audio/video/images) sent or received will be protected even if your phone is damaged or lost or WhatsApp is deleted.

But yes. You need to use the same number with which you registered and opened WhatsApp to restore the backups. Otherwise you won't be able to restore any backups.
